Going Green: What Little Moon Essentials is Doing for the Planet
When it comes to being a business in 2023, there is more to focus on than just the bottom line. What we create as businesses creates an impact on the planet, both good and bad. It’s important to recognize the footprint that we create and implement practices that can create more positivity for the planet. We wanted to discuss our environmental initiatives in a little more detail so you can be confident in supporting our brand (and supporting the planet).
Positive Products
Up first are the actual products we produce. As a bath and body care company, we understand how important it is to prioritize ingredients that will be placed on the skin. As a result of this, we work to continually source 100% natural ingredients for every single one of our products. We also hand-select each of our 100% pure, undiluted essential oils for their specific healing properties to make exceptional products that help you feel your best every day. Our products are also paraben-free and free of artificial fragrances.
Always Cruelty-Free
We don’t test on animals, and we never will. All our products are Leaping Bunny certified cruelty-free. We don’t test our products on animals at any stage of production or distribution, and we carefully source our ingredients from suppliers that do not test on animals. Many of our products are also vegan, with the exception of our salves that contain beeswax (but our beeswax is also cruelty-free and comes from happy bees!).
Made By the Phases of the Moon
We utilize the changing phases of the moon to help us create the base oils that go in a handful of our products. This allows us to follow a more natural path to extracting the medicinal properties of the herbs by using heat. This ensures that our ingredients and our planet are never compromised.
Handmade In the USA
Our team makes and packages all our products by hand at our facilities in Dania Beach, Florida. This not only ensures that we are making quality products each time, but it significantly cuts down the carbon footprint we would create with additional shipping from another facility.
Recyclable and Biodegradable
The majority of our packaging can be recycled and/or reused! If you are recycling the packages, it is best to rinse out the bottles, remove any pump tops, and soak the container in a bit of warm water and soap to help get the label off. As for our shipping materials, our boxes can be broken down and recycled, and our packing peanuts are all biodegradable. Spray them down with water and watch as they break down! Unfortunately, we do have to use a small amount of bubble wrap to ensure our glass jars' safe arrival to your doorsteps, but we are always looking for other ways to innovate our packing materials.
